Hammerhead Dynos interchangeable "SHARK TEETH" power chips are designed to allow flexibility in your HHD Dyno's measuring range.

Choosing a Shark Teeth power chip is easy, and is based on 2 factors.

  1. Speaker Impedance
  2. Amplifier's peak output capacity (in watts)

Use the chart below, and determine which Shark Teeth power chip is needed for each channel of your Hammerhead Dyno:

All HHD Dynos purchased come with HHD-ST 1250 model Shark Teeth when ordered. This model "SHARK TEETH" is the most commonly used with Modern amplifiers and common speaker impedance (in ohms) loads.

Important: All Hammerhead Dyno models have a 6000 watt peak, 2500 watt RMS, power handling capacity per channel when using the Dyno as an input plate/passthrough.  If your amplifier and speaker system require higher ratings, do NOT use the Hammerhead Dyno as your speaker's input plate. You must use a higher wattage rating input plate in addition to our Dyno. Connection of our Dyno can be made by tapping in parallel directly into the high capacity input plate connection or directly to the speaker with standard 18ga speaker wire or higher.

Higher wattage range Shark Teeth are provided solely so users can utilize the full Dyno wattage range of 6,000 watts peak at higher than 4 ohm impedance loads. Using Shark Teeth HHD-ST 2500 and higher with lower than 4ohm speaker impedance loads create substantial electrical risks to your equipment and is done so at your own risk!

We have designed the "SHARK TEETH" to be very economical, so that our Dyno users can purchase as many options as needed without having to by multiple dynos. This allows you to use your Dynos in dynamic systems now and in the future.

Please note that "SHARK TEETH" shapes may change for various Dyno models; however, their functionality remains the same for all versions.
