What to know before you buy!

To be proactively transparent with our current and potential customers, we are providing a short list of things you need to know before buying a Hammerhead Dyno system. This is a living list, and we will keep it updated as products evolve and our business grows.
  • Hammerhead Dynos, and our associated products, are electrical products. While our Dynos are passively powered by your amplifier, it inherently has the same electrical hazards that all electrical devices have. Fire, equipment damage, injury, and even death have been caused by improper installation or improper usage of electrical devices since their inception. Our Dynos are no different. While we warranty against manufacturing defects for 1 year, this is not our accepting of any liability for the use of our devices. As with many companies, the user assumes full liability for any use of our products upon purchase.
  • Our Dynos should never be operated unless properly connected to all required devices in the proper manner. Our Dynos are not designed to be taken apart, and contain no user serviceable parts.
  • Most of our Dyno's that are available to the general public have circuitry and wiring that are contained inside 3D printed enclosures.
    • Pre-2026 enclosures are either Anodized Aluminum, or printed using standard PLA plastic.
    • Post mid-2026 manufacturing has moved to 3D printed enclosures using PC-FR materials. These are engineering-level plastics that have a UL 94-2023 V-0 Flame Retardancy rating.
    • PC FR is engineered to prevent or slow flame propagation with exceptional self-extinguishing properties. Ideal for critical applications in electronics, automotive, and mechanical engineering.
      • UL 94 is a plastics flammability standard established by Underwriters Laboratories (USA). V-0—the highest UL 94 V rating—indicates that burning stops within 10 seconds on a vertically positioned specimen, with dripping particles allowed as long as they are not ignited.
  • Hammerhead Dyno system components are not designed to be used in a wet environments, marine vehicles, very damp environments, under persistent UV light sources, or in extreme weather conditions. Proper care should be taken to protect your Hammerhead Dyno system components at all times from mother nature.
  • Our warranty protects your Hammerhead Dyno equipment from manufacturing defects for 1 year. Any other damage such as handling damage, use beyond power rating limits, cosmetic defects, improper mounting, and the like are not covered by our warranty.
  • Mounting a Dyno inside of a speaker cabinet (especially subwoofer cabinets) can be sealed beyond it's inherent seals using standard silicon/non-conductive RTV caulking if needed.  Better protection from air leaks and damage can be achieved by enclosing the back side of the Dyno using a shallow wooden box. (As typically done by speaker cabinet makers that box in enclosure handles and standard input plates.)
